Philosophy | Techniques

Acupuncture
The acupuncturist places extremely fine, sterile, disposable needles at specific points on the body's energetic pathways, known as meridians. These needles stimulate your body's own electrical energy (Qi) to bring your body's systems back to balance.

Acupressure (Tui-Na)
Finger pressure is used to stimulate both deep tissue and surface muscles at your body's acupoints. Pressure on specific combinations of acupoints help open and balance energy pathways that have been restricted thus promoting the flow of qi and blood in the meridians and its collaterals.

Electroacupuncture
After a needle has been inserted at a point and the Qi sensation obtained, an electric current is passed through the needle both to strengthen and alter the nature of stimulation. Electroacupuncture is especially recommended for neuralgia and nervous paralysis.

Moxibustion
The dried leaves of the common mugwart plant, moxa, are placed on the ends of acupuncture needles, or shaped into small cones and burned through herbal cake or ginger over the skin.
Moxibustion is particularly effective in the treatment of arthritis, asthma, and chromic fatigue system. It is also used to boost one's immune system, increase circulation and improve sexual function.

Herbal Therapy
Herbal preparations come in the forms of tea, powder, or pills. These herbal formulas are carefully prepared from plants, tree branches, leaves, flowers, seeds, or vegetables and are designed to treat specific health problems or correct imbalances in the body. Foods used in herbal treatment include rice, beans, carrots, ginger, scallion and onions. All herbal products that we carry meet international GNP standards.

Craniosacral therapy
The craniosacral system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. The craniosacral therapist tests for restrictions in the craniosacral system by monitoring the rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluids as it flows through the system.

Then the therapist's light, hands-on approach assists the hydraulic force in the craniosacral system to improve your body's internal environment and strengthen its ability to heal itself.

Pain Neutralizing Technique (Trigger point neutralization)

Trigger point neutralization can relieve both acute and chronic pain. By accessing these areas within a muscle, tendon or ligament, pain dissipates immediately. The combination of acupuncture and pain neutralization can result in longer lasting pain relief.
